confused about this, got this about 1 hour after i had left a rbg group that had went 1-3 after waiting over an hour to que. as the final game ended i thanked them for group and told them i was done, not sure how this karma system works or why i was dinged any help would be grateful

The karma system is a rating system for players. There are numerous ways to give someone positive or negative karma, normally by right clicking their name somewhere in the addon. As your karma approachs 25 your name will become green to show you are a good player, as it approaches -25 it will become red to show you are a bad player.

People may give you karma after a raid or other grouping activity.

Every day you lose 1 karma point.

ex: I have 10 karma, tommorow I will have 9.
ex2: I have -4 karma, tommorow I will have -3.

When my karma reachs 0 it will stop moving automatically.

I appreciate your reply but it seems like this system could be easily abused like it my case, I was either top or 2nd on highest dmg ever game only leaving after several losses and polite when I left yet I was dinged… oh well I guess

This is nice system but seems unreliable. Few days ago, I lost 4 points and I wasn't in any group (It was just out of nowhere). Later, after few hours, I lost 2 more. So basically, I don't know whats happening. Overall, now I am at zero and I can't care anymore.

Removing 1 karma point for 24 hour inactivity doesn't seem helpful. Karma point should be something for performance and general attitude.

You don't lose 1 point for inactivity, you just lose 1 point because time has passed. This is to encourage people to continue acting in a positive manner. So i can't just get to 25 karma and act like a jerk for a few weeks.

Users can reward karma for a number of hours after a group, so it is possible you were rewarded karma in that fashion.

We can't really control how users will use the karma system, and there is room for abuse.
