So Many

So, wondering, why is it that I download Oqueue and within a couple of days there is a new update forcing me to close my game again to download the new one, seeing as the Curse Client I have installed doesn't track it and I only know I need to update once I'm already IN the game...is there a need to have that many updates all the time? Seriously, gets annoying when you have to keep re-downloading an addon you just had downloaded a few days, if not hours before. On the plus side, love it, and glad it is going to be implemented in WoD. If anything, only thing I could ask for more is less updates right after another, maybe save them for patch releases, and the ability to contact the people that make premades, other than just having to waitlist. Many times have I missed achievement raids because I am positive the RL never saw me in queue.
You don't have to log out of game to install the new version everytime. You can just install it then do a /reload which will refresh most of your addons including oQueue. Another method that I picked up on is I downloaded Icebox app from SolidIce and launch it everyday prior to logging in so I can update. The reason why Curse Client can't track it is due to how oQueue releases updates, they release them so rapidly that approval from Curse is required before they can post them on their site therefore the best method is doing it through their own site which works out even better now that they have Icebox. I hope I have answered your concerns and given you some new options to keeping it updated. :)
My guess is they thought they could get icebox to compete with curse since oq is such a popular add-on.
Why somany updates: oQueue is immensly complicated, and there is only one guy writing all of the code. Unfortunately this leads to us not being able to test every scenario, so there are normally bugs with new versions. We opt to fix these bugs ASAP. Rather than not releasing an update, for the sake of just not releasing an update.

Why is it not on curse, the short version: We got into a disagrement with a blogger on MMOC, MMOC is owned by Curse. This blogger influenced Curse to disable downloads for oQueue. They gave us a list of things to do so that oQueue could go back on Curse, and instead we decided to host it ourselves.

...means "We don't really know what we are doing, and got in over our heads, but now the addon is so popular we feel like we have to fix it everyday, and by doing so pisses off our users, instead of having a consistant update schedule, which could keep our users more happy and not have comment after comment complaining about another update since the one 2 days ago."

I've found that actually you do. Icebox crashes if you are in game.

I wasn't refering to updating with Icebox while in game, the OP doesn't have Icebox so I was telling them how I used to do it before I got Icebox.
SackoFrito,

If you don't feel you are getting your 0$'s worth, might I suggest you take your "Business" elsewhere?
