rank - Ban list - people leave

Oqueue is a great thing...but a real cancer in oqueue are people who enter and go outside, leave premade, enter in premade, leave...need to create a rank point for people , karma point dont work properly.
We Need a real simple rank for - i check you - example you have -10 i dont take you for my premade.

Sorry for my terrible engl :)
you can give them negative karma and then put them on your ban list w/ a note.

some people give temporary bans and put in the note when to lift it (which they do manually)

beyond that, there isn't really much i can do that wouldn't be abused by trolls

Yes imho there is 1 thing to do - create an automatic rank - :)
@Tiny: actually.. i think there might be a way...

send a user's local ban list to the scorekeeper, together with the ban timestamp (or create another scorekeeper just for this), and keep track of how many people ban someone's battletag.

when enough people ban someone on their list, the scorekeeper should add that person's battletag to the global oQ ban list for 1/7/15/30 day(s) (progressive increase for each additional infraction)

i think the "enough" bit should be something resonable... let's say probably like
"you're not banned globally as long as less than 3/5/9 new people have added you on their ban lists in the last 6/12 hours and your tag is not present in the long-time (e.g. more than 2/4/7/10 day-old) ban records from more than 10/20/30/50 people (again, progressive increases, corresponding to the days above) - all of these conditions being cumulative".

this should provide some degree of control on dynamic banning of battle tags and will provide some checks for banning worst offenders, and the distributed ban-voting system should make it very difficult to ban someone accidentally.
the scorekeeper is already max'd

there is no way to store more info. it's actually capped out and losing data over 150k btags per region. it'll spike to 165k... then fail on the next load and drop to 130-135k

i could find a way to externally observe and store the data... but it's not worth the dev time at this point.

for now, if someone is being an ass... put them on your ban list. problem solved
i already half-suspected the SK was capped.. thats why i suggested a second one for tracking infractions and bans...

however, with blizzard's upcoming changes to the battlenet comms system that seems designed just to block oQ from passing messages, i think you're right...it might not worth the effort.

let's hope blizz changes its mind and allows addon bnet data comms in 6.0.
A Ban Keeper lets call it, would be extremely bad in my opinion anyways. Because I ban people from my list if they're failing on mechanics too many times, or they allow carries, or if they're dead set on 2 tanking Garrosh 10 man or flex. There might be enough people out there that ban that person for that reason, but that doesn't mean they're not fit to raid, it just means they're not fit to my playstyle. It's nothing against them at all, it's just personal prefference.

I think the karma feature would be all that's needed, but is pretty useless when it decrease by 1 each day.. I think it should remain as a permanent constant number.

If someone give you -1 , then you have -1 forever. If another 10 does aswell, then you appear with -11 , no matter if some days have gone inbetween this.

If people are nice they should end with a postive rating anyway I think.

Just need more people to understand and start using the karma system.

I actually earn karma frequently simply by informing people of this feature and how to use it =P (often initiated by someone asking shortly after joining a group "what is this for, flex normal or what, wich boss???" - and I'd whisper them to open oqueue, bottom left tab Premade, and grp title is stated in top left, and also to hold over ppls squares to see ilvl, stats etc, and right-click it to give karma (also useful when ppl are discussing grp stats n such, to simply refer them to this place as many newbs to it seem unaware of it) -- I think most test it right away by giving me positive karma then, it seems =P :D

Anyway, more ppl should know to use this. But I don't think it's worth all that much in its current form anyway. As a bad ninja getting some bad feedback, just take a few days without playing (as many/most does every now and then anyway) and appear with neutral / default karma again... :/

Not sure what reasons u'd have for making it decrease by 1 each day until it reaches zero, but, this kinda rating system isn't one I trust very much, or put much value in using as such. I still do when I can though! But especcialy as you can earn negative karma points urself by giving others, are often hesitant to, altho ppl are deserving of it, calculating whether the benefit to informing community thru the use of karma feature as such is worth risk getting automated negative karma myself as a result :(

Another thing about this..

Some times you only know ppl are deserving of bad karma after they have already left the group.... then, in the Premade window, their player-square to right-click and give karma is often gone, and would be unable to assign them any karma..... so bad ppl can cause havor and leave quick and face no repercussions.
However! Not sure under what circumstances, if only still within an instance grp or something, but some times their square in the Premade tab still remains (atleast for a while) after they leave, so that I can still give them negative karma.
I usually click karma down multiple times to assure it's clickd, and also to get a record of their btag stated.

Also, i think its somehow bugged at times, not sure how but with some kinda grp setup (ppl quitting/leaving in some unussual manner along with possibly joining/quitting instnance.. , that the squares u click to give karma are not the right ones. For example I saw someones square remain after they had left, who I thought deserved negative karma, I clicked it as such, and as per usual I click it multiple times to make sure it really get set in addition to get a written record of their btag (oqueue says something like " has already received karma frmo you today"), and it would state my own battletag there, lol! not sure its some kinda weird way to enable giving oneself karma or not (and if thats even possible at all), but :d

Anyway.. sry i talk alot some times eh, uh, just wanted to say, I dont value this feature as much unfortunately, and think it could be much better if karma points were constant (not by itself going in either direction), and more ppl knew to use this feature, and that it was possible to use it somehow (even if karma couldnt rly be applied until next time you saw them around.. or something) even if they had already left the group, cos thats most of the times there is a need for it - some bad person acting badly talking crap b4 ninjapulling and leaving for example ..

Lme take this time im first here (rarely bother posting n such, not much active around here otherwise either besides frequently checking mainpage for oqueue updates=) -- to say Thanks alot to its authors, and tho i unfortunately arn't able to donate, hope others are to give these folks someting back and encoragement besides ppls 'thanks' to keep working, as oqueue is an amazing tool!

I think even if WoW implements is own version, the fact its something like this, a third-party addon not immediately avialble to everyone by default in-game, working kinda as an extra layer as a noob-filter in a way, is a reason I thinnk and hope it may be valuable in the future even, as its like an own community less-casual than the ones u'd find using the in-game tools anyway...

Although language is often a problem, I love the fact so many more people are reachable from non-english realms aswell, russian, spanish, french, german etc.. which otherwise is never reached ingame. Altho many dont speak english, this is another thing I enjoy as a challenge smoe times, and with google-translate (and addon prat to copy from chat) have fun trying to deal with still =P (and sneaking into raids I'd want but are "french only" (while i dont rly know french, without google-translate n such:P) , n have also met many great ppl from around the world and realized how isolated these communities are because of the too often unfortunate language barriers :| and with it apparent lack of players, but with oqueue, instead of Raid Finder which may be dead at night (frmo 3-4 am until 9am often, grp ending prematurely, often remains unfilled/ready till 8-9 am for next grp to form for it..) , I'd rather just use oqueue for Flex raids or such (also even better (loot too)) which has people around 24/7!
Aaand, the fact the different time zones helps that, like in the morning hours theres unsually many russian folks around (supposedly theyre eastern parts are some hours ahead of us, or something) .. very cool, and keeps the community alive. Not sure Id play much if at all as much WoW without having all this and as many ppl potentially available , when theres otherwise none ingame by default..

sry for bad english, and alot of text... i should end here =P thx again, hope i made myself understood atleast, just wanted to add some quick input I remembered n thought somewhat relevant to this for once now, and say thanks anyway.
